Our school is considering getting a uniform. We have been preparing arguments 'for' and 'against' a school uniform. We have looked at exemplars of persuasive text and have come up with the following criteria:
*Ideas organised into paragraphs
*Surface features
*Alliteration
*Facts and statistics
*Repetition
*Reasons to support - arguement

We Don’t Want a Uniform!!!!
Uniforms, uniforms, uniforms ,we hate uniforms!
Tauriko would lose their Identity wearing uniforms because everyone will look the same.
Uniforms will cost heaps and heaps of money for example a jacket for Tauranga intermediate is $80.00.
Tauriko will be original if we don’t wear uniforms. Schools around us such as Green park Bethlehem have uniforms.
QUIT THE UNIFORMS RIGHT NOW AND SAVE MONEY!!!!

Tauriko shouldn’t wear uniforms!

We don’t have to if we don’t want to because it’s a free school.

We will have to wear a school uniform for the rest of our lives. Would you like it if you got forced
to wear a school uniform? Some of the children here at Tauriko School only have two more terms before they have to wear a uniform at Intermediate, College ,and maybe work as well.

It’s not fair because other schools have uniforms, we want to be different to other schools. So don’t make us wear uniforms, let us have the amazing, original, awesome schools that our parents want us to have.

We strongly disagree that Tauriko should have a uniform and we are sure you will agree with us.

Tauriko should have a school uniform.
If we have a school uniform you don’t have to choose in the morning.
Having a school uniform will make our school look cool, creative and more competitive.
We will all look the same as everybody else because we will all be wearing a school uniform.
Tauriko’s uniform is good value. Tauriko’s jackets cost $42.00 and Tauranga Intermediate cost $80.00.
A school uniform will represent our school.

We need uniforms!!

Tauriko School should wear uniforms.
Having a Tauriko uniform would stop your parents from yelling at you to get your clothes ready.

Do you really want to get your new clothes dirty? Having a uniform would stop you from getting your new clothes dirty. Your parents wouldn’t have to keep on buying clothes because they are all broken or stained.

Our uniforms are cool, colourful and show how creative we are.

You should wear a uniform because you won’t get picked on because we are all the same.

We hope we have convinced you to agree that Tauriko should have uniforms.

What’s your opinion?
Yes Tauriko School should wear a uniform!

Why? Because you won’t have to wake up so early in the morning and take so long to get dressed.

It doesn’t matter what you look like as long as you act yourself and be who you are and never try to be someone else.

Our uniforms are cool, crazy and creative did I mention that we are really competitive and compete in KRSA, Western Bay and a whole lot more.

Our uniform stands out in the crowd and don’t let any walls get in our way.

Do you really won’t to miss this opportunity to make your school proud?
